Experiencing anxiety is more prevalent these days and affects many people on a daily basis. It is the perfect storm of overwhelm, fear of a negative outcome, and perhaps — unbeknownst to us, the under use of our own intuition. As a social worker I have noticed in the last 40 years the phenomena of people experiencing anxiety is markedly increasing. While feelings of anxiety are complex and unique to each person, what is common is that anxiety is telling you that something is uncomfortable at a very real level. It is communicating with you.
I have discovered in my practice that one of the most helpful tools in managing anxiety is to use your intuition more. Much of what may cause anxiety is subtle. Your body is picking up on things around and within you 24-7. Let's learn to honor this instinctive knowing and use your intuition as a tool to fortify you — like a vitamin would. Your intuition can identify what is throwing you off balance in any given moment. Anxiety is a signal you can use in a helpful way. Using your intuition, is not the only solution, but using it as an important supplement can certainly provide invaluable insight and support.
Let's explore playfully and with great respect if part of your anxiety — may be due to this 'intuition deficiency'.
